Ashok Dawra came to Bangalore from Patiala in 2011 and saw opportunity in the lack of lassi places in Bangalore. He said that even the few that existed and seemed to be popular, didn't do justice to what lassi is supposed to be, as per Punjabis. Having grown up on thick, creamy lassi back in Punjab, he decided to offer the same to Bangaloreans and Patiala Lassi was born.
A tiny shop tucked away on Sanjay Nagar Main Road, it offers thick, creamy lassi with just the right amount of sweetness. Using a spoon to eat it may be the correct way to savour this perfect ending to a North-Indian meal. Available in a variety of flavours, the lassi is made in an interesting small contraption that Ashok brought from Punjab.
